Football holds a special place in the lives of many and brings people together across social backgrounds and generations. NFF has over 400,000 active members, and approximately two million people in Norway engage with football daily. Children, youth, and adults become part of a larger community through football. As one of the country's most significant social actors, NFF carries a tremendous responsibility that must be managed in a way that benefits all.

Our goal is to ensure that everyone, through their club, has access to quality football opportunities and great experiences in their local community.

NFF supports clubs that go the extra mile to welcome all who want to play, recognising each individual and providing opportunities tailored to different needs, abilities, and ambitions. We are committed to fostering development environments that promote equal opportunities while applying a professional approach that acknowledges gender differences and each player's unique growth and maturation process.

Norway is a vast country with a small population, making it essential to continuously develop the best possible football offerings that reach as many children and young people as possible.

The value of football to society

Football has immense value for Norwegian society. It is estimated that football is worth 46 billion NOK in socio-economic societal benefits. This includes the economic impact of social benefits, direct economic contributions, and savings in healthcare costs resulting from football participation.
