Digitalisation and insights

Why is this important for achieving our goals?
Digitalisation and data-driven insights are essential for Norwegian football to work smarter, more efficiently, and precisely in the years ahead. Modern technology, including new digital tools, artificial intelligence (AI), and data analytics, enables us to simplify and enhance every day operations across Norwegian football—from the FA to regional associations and clubs. The NFF will focus on leveraging the opportunities created by rapid technological advancements, both on and off the pitch.
We will use insights and data to develop new products and services, create additional revenue streams, and strengthen stakeholder engagement in Norwegian football.
For regional associations and clubs, this means reducing time-consuming administrative tasks by implementing better and more user-friendly systems. Particularly for grassroots clubs with limited resources, this will free up valuable time to be spent on the pitch, recruitment, and player development. Digitalisation is a more innovative way of working and is essential for meeting the challenges and opportunities of the future.
Elite clubs, including those represented by interest organisations, already invest in technology and insights. To succeed, the entire football organisation must work together – sharing knowledge, experiences, and resources where needed most. By adopting new technologies and staying ahead of the curve, we ensure that Norwegian football remains strong, ready to achieve sporting ambitions, and capable of further developing the organisation.
By 2030, we will:
To meet future needs, simplify club and regional operations, and improve digital tools and systems, including the Football Information and Communication System (FIKS).
Establish a centralised data hub for efficient access, analysis, and information sharing to support decision-making across Norwegian football.
Explore emerging technologies like AI to enhance sports analysis and administrative efficiency.
Ensure robust cybersecurity and data protection for the FA, regional associations, and clubs.
Simplify digital services to increase user satisfaction and free up time for club operations.
